Many businesses fail after experiencing a significant data loss, but disaster recovery (a subset of business continuity) can help. Micro Pro offer expert disaster recovery planning to clients in London and the surrounding area. Our advice and the systems we implement enable an organisation to quickly resume operations following a disaster. We carefully consider two important measurements when creating a disaster recovery plan. Recovery point objective (RPO) is the maximum age of files that an organisation must recover, in order to resume normal operations. Recovery time objective (RTO) is the maximum amount of time an organisation has to recover files and resume normal operation. Using these measurements, Micro Pro can tailor a reliable, cost effective solution to suit your requirements.

Backup & Recovery

Every disaster recovery plan must incorporate a reliable, fast backup and recovery process. All mission critical files must be added to the backup set, and importantly, must remain there. Processes and systems should be put in place to prevent critical files from accumulating on local drives or devices that aren’t included in the backup routine. The frequency of backups must at least match your RPO, so if an organisation has an RPO of 12 hours, a backup must be scheduled at least every 12 hours. The recovery process should be tested regularly to ensure it works, and it meets the RTO. If an organisation has an RTO of 4 hours, recovery must happen within that time frame. Micro Pro employ backup solutions to fit any business, including cost effective cloud backup.

  • Ensure the correct data is backed up
  • Set the frequency of backups to meet RPO
  • Regularly test the recovery process

Disaster Recovery as a Service

A cost effective alternative to maintaining on-site DR environments is disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS). The time required to resume normal operations can be reduced as data does not need to be restored over the Internet. Micro Pro can setup and manage DRaaS in the cloud on platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. A detailed SLA is created to ensure requirements are documented, and our clients can rely on our experienced engineers to safeguard their data and get them back up and running quickly in the event of a disaster.

  • Virtualise DR systems
  • Reduce the cost of disaster recovery
  • Improve recovery time
